The Disability Law Center will host a free transition planning informational seminar for providers who want to learn more about the new federal settings rule that will apply to everyone on waiver services. The seminar will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15 at the Community Legal Center, 205 North 400 West in Salt Lake City. Registration deadline is Friday, July 10.

All services provided through the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) will be affected by these changes. The Utah waivers affected include Community Supports Waiver, Acquired Brain Injury Waiver, Aging Waiver, Medicaid Autism Waiver, New Choices Waiver, Physical Disabilities Waiver and the Technology Dependent Waiver.

The new settings rule through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will require changes to the way services are currently being delivered and states will no longer be allowed to use federal money for services that isolate people from their communities.

Register online by Friday, July 10. Due to construction, parking is limited to street parking or to the pay lot located on the northeast corner of North Temple and 400 West. Fee for the pay lot is $2 per day.
